On the slopes of the Panský diel hill above Špania Dolina, at an altitude of 800-1,102 m above sea level, is the ski resort Šachtičky, where fans of both recreational and professional skiing will find their own. In the resort near Banská Bystrica there are 7 ski runs of different difficulty with a total length of more than 10 km and 4 ski lifts. 2 ski slopes have FIS certificate for organizing international races. Šachtičky is also suitable for families with children, there is a children’s area with two small ski slopes and two lifts.

Of course, there are services such as ski service, ski and snowboard rental and ski school. At the northern foot is a sports center called Šachtička or Šachtičky, which offers, for example, accommodation, a restaurant, horse riding, a playground and an observation tower.

There is also a Hotel Šachtička in the resort. The atmosphere of Hotel Šachtička is reminiscent of typical Alpine hotels. Numerous fireplaces, hunting decorations, or corners with antique chests of drawers and sofas, perfect for escaping reality. Sitting down with a good book and a glass of wine adds to the unique experience of a stay in the mountains.

The only asphalt access road is in the direction of the town of Sásová, 5.5 km long. Other accesses are possible by hiking trails from all sides, the most important ones are from Donovaly, Sásová and Špania Dolina. On selected days, the SKIBUS from Banská Bystrica also runs to the ski resort from Banská Bystrica.
